Next Friday (May 17th) is the second ever Food Revolution Day. I think this is the most wonderful initiative by Jamie Oliver that encourges people to make a stand for good food and basic cooking skills.
In a world where the obesity rate is climbing, and reaching for a take away or packaged meal is far too easy, this day has come at a perfect time. Food Revolution Day aims to raise awareness about the importance of good food and better food education for everyone by focusing on three simple actions – cook it, share it, live it.
I am going to spend the day cooking with my children and planting their own little herb garden. I want them to grow up knowing where their food comes from and how to grow their own goodness. I want to see the love that goes in to making a yummy, nutritious meal. And I’ll document the whole thing to share with you.
I’d love for you all to join in too!
Maybe you will try making bread for the first time, maybe you’ll have a few friends over for a little dinner party and all bring something to share, maybe you’ll make that green smoothie you’ve been wanting to try, maybe you’ll plant a few herbs of your own. Have a little think about it during the week. Whatever it is, I’d love to hear about it!
The more people we can get to spread the wellness word – the better the world will be!
