Happy Wednesday! I hope you’ve been having a wonderful week.
I thought I’d do another vlog. This one was only meant to be a quick little video, but I have a tendency to ramble. 🙂
Anyway, I wanted to talk about the fact that I’ve felt a little overwhelmed this week. My to-do list seems to be growing and I felt a little snowed under.
I just wanted to add (because I clearly didn’t talk enough!), that it is OK to say no. You don’t have to attend every social gathering. You don’t have to undertake every new project at work. You have every right to say no. In fact, you’re probably doing yourself a huge favour by saying no every now and then. Because by saying no to someone else, you’re actually saying yes to yourself.
The other thing is that it’s OK to ask for help. This is something I hugely struggle with, as I seem to have this martyr mentality whereby I think I need to do it all and be seen to be doing it all. But you don’t have to do everything alone. Outsource. Ask your partner or a friend for a little extra help. Even the smallest task someone else can do for you, can make a huge impact to your week. Asking for help doesn’t make you a failure.
And above all else – when that overwhelming feeling comes up… BREATHE. Take some deep, mindful breaths and even meditate. Taking that step away from your to-do list can make it seem far less important and far more achievable.
How do you manage your to-do list? How do you manage that overwhelmed feeling? I’d love to hear your tips and tricks! xx
